Middletown Elementary competes with other JCPS elementary schools each
spring in the Mayor’s Cup Academic Challenge. We field groups of
students in the following three areas of competition as part of Mayor’s
Cup:

Quick Recall Team – A game-show
format where both speed and knowledge are important.

Problem Solving Team – A
creative role-playing group that has a limited time to develop a
solution to a given situation and then presents that solution as a skit
for judging.

Written Assessments –
Individual tests in areas such as mathematics, science, social studies,
and language arts.
