Accelerated Reader Program
Students select library books from a wide range of levels and topics that
are on the AR list. Upon completion of the book, the children take a test on a
computer that asks them specific questions about the book.

Everyone
wanting the opportunity to spread school spirit now has the opportunity to do
so! Cheering for Middletown is a wonderful way to promote school pride, form
lifelong friendships and learn proper cheering and tumbling skills in a safe,
FUN environment. Three different programs are offered based on age and
skill level.

students learn the techniques of chess and compete in matches throughout the

Cross Country
Our Cross
Country team competes with other area elementary schools.
Students in
1st-5th grades may participate, although parents of 1st and 2nd graders
must stay with them during practices for safety reasons. Practices will be held
from 7 to 8 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park. For

Field Day Every spring the whole student body participates in relays,
games, and activities on our 10 acre campus.

Grandparents' Day Grandparents join Middletown students for Thanksgiving meals in

We all Scream for Ice Cream (end-of-testing celebration)
State testing is over in the spring and Middletown celebrates with
ice cream for the students. -
Mayor's Cup Middletown’s Academic team participates in the district’s
Mayor’s
Cup with their Quick Recall and Creative Problem Solving teams.

Perfect Attendance Recognition
Classes with perfect attendance are recognized every afternoon
and incentives are given throughout the year for students with perfect
attendance.

PTA Reflections Program Each fall Middletown students participate in the district PTA
Reflections Program by using their artistic talents through visual, dance,
music, and creative writing.

Skating Parties Students skate together at Champs
Rollerdrome for an evening of fun and exercise. -
Science Fair Middletown has a hands-on, minds-on inquiry-based Science program.
Once a year, students participate in a school-wide Science Fair to demonstrate
their skills.
