Chess Team

• The club is open to all students, Kindergarten through 5th grade, at all ability levels.
• $25 membership fee covers t-shirt, 3 months of instruction, trophy and participation in Jefferson County Chess League.
• The fee for siblings is $15 each and includes all the above
• 50% discount is offered for families on JCPS reduced fees. See Mrs. Robards in the office for reimbursement.
• Purchase & use a Middletown Elementary Kroger gift card to reduce your fees... possibly to $0!

• Dynamic Problem Solving... teaches kids to think on their own.  Teaches patience and reinforces "think before you act".
• Team and School Spirit... Middletown competes against surrounding schools such as Hite, Lowe, Kentucky Country Day, Sacred Heart Model School.  Middletown Elementary won the Kentucky State Championship last year at K1 level and 4th/5th grade level.
• Friendship and Socialization... Kids love it.  Ask any of the 50 kids that participated last year.  1 in every 8 kids at M-town participated.

Parents of kindergarten and 1st grader students will be asked to assist with their child once about every 4-6 weeks.  You will enjoy watching your child learn.
