The 3rd Annual Middletown Elementary

Read-A-Thon is Scheduled for September 7 —17

The PTA has chosen to by-pass the traditional forms of fundraising and hold our own FUN-draiser – our very own Read-A-Thon.  The children will set reading goals and get sponsors to donate money to the school.  Every child will get to contribute to their school and to their future as they improve their reading skills.

The Read-a-thon committee is planning two weeks full of reading fun.  We will have guest readers, reading activities and some surprises that will be sure to encourage the students to turn off the TV and pick up a book!  100% of the proceeds from the Read-A-Thon stay at Middletown Elementary compared to a fraction of that with traditional fundraisers.

If you would like to get involved with this exciting new program there are many ways you can help:

· We are looking for corporate sponsors to help offset the cost of running the Read-A-Thon.

· We will be holding a used children’s book sale during the Read-A-Thon.  Start collecting any gently used books that you have out-grown and bring them to school to donate for the book sale.

· Join the Read-A-Thon committee and share your ideas for the event.

Look for the Read-A-Thon table at Boomer’s Bash.  For more information or to join the Read-A-Thon committee, contact by email or phone Katie Nitting 794-3456.
