Middletown Elementary Uniform/Dress Code

Students are expected to wear clean, appropriately fitting clothes to school on ALL DAYS, according to the following dress code:

Item

Fabrics

*Cotton, Cotton blend, Cotton twill.  (If shopping at a uniform store such as Shaheen’s our uniforms are “classic style”)

*No denim

*No knit or linen

*No silk

*No spandex

Jumpers, Skirts, Skorts, Slacks, Shorts, Dresses

*Solid Blue, Solid Khaki, Solid Black  #81 Beverly Plaid is also allowed for jumpers, skorts, and skirts

*Skirts, shorts and jumpers must be fingertip length

*No baggy, too-loose pants

Shirts

*Any solid color

*Shirts must be collared polo shirts, turtlenecks, sweaters (pullover or cardigan), or sweatshirts. 

*Girls may wear blouses that meet the standards.

*Read-A-Thon and Spirit shirts

*ALL shirts MUST be tucked into slacks or skirts.

*No logo except the Middletown logo is allowed on shirts

*No tank tops, spaghetti strap tops, open midriff shirts

*No printed shirts

Shoes/Socks

*Tennis shoes

*Black, brown, or navy dress shoes or boots

*Solid-colored socks, tights, or leggings

*No sandals, clogs, or open-toed shoes

*No skate shoes

*No high-heels on shoes or boots (no more than an inch)

Coats/Outerwear

*Students are encouraged to keep a sweater or sweatshirt in their locker or backpack for cooler classrooms

*No coats, jackets, etc. may be worn in the classroom

Belts

*Belts should be worn with slacks that have belt loops

 

Jewelry

 

*No distracting or unsafe items

*No dangling earrings

Other

*Boy Scout, Cub Scout, Girl Scout, and brownie uniforms may be worn on days of meetings or scouting events

*No hats, bandannas, or sunglasses should be worn in the building
